This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 14, 2009:
My Brain, a storm of electricty commonly experienced in the head.
Things I don't understand.
Sometimes Everything.
A love affair with confusion.
Believing in thoughts.
What he said.
What it means.
Bigger pictures......
The vastness of the universe.
And how does my TV and my phone work anyhow?
The complexities of Life.
Context and Perspective.
If I am different than you?
Wanting to know
Right down to the seeds of desire.
Where do I end?
The power of Love.
How I am .
Forgetting God.
Things I don't understand.
Sometimes Everything.
A love affair with confusion.
Believing in thoughts.
What he said.
What it means.
Bigger pictures......
The vastness of the universe.
And how does my TV and my phone work anyhow?
The complexities of Life.
Context and Perspective.
If I am different than you?
Wanting to know
Right down to the seeds of desire.
Where do I end?
The power of Love.
How I am .
Forgetting God.

Help

Beautiful! :)
Yep. Good words.
Well I have been intimate with confusion for quite some time now, it's taken a while but I'm finally getting the hang of enjoying it! It only hurts when I think too much about it. :) Thanks for dropping by.
one of the things we were discussing last night on another phone marathon :) was the beautiful quality of intellectual curiosity, which is rich in you, dear Shanti. much love
Wonderful poetry. Beautiful!
bows,
mimi
Thanks Nicole, yes this curiosity keeps life interesting, to explore; not just to find the truth, but to know it in every cell, in every moment new.
Mimi glad you enjoy, when I saw the question on confusion I could not resist the chance to play here. Two answers surprised me most. First the love affair with confusion, how fun it is not to know for certain anything at all. And then the last line because when I remember the ultimate mystery all other concerns pale in comparison. Thanks for visiting :)
i Had a wonderful realisation this Diwali…
We tend to “weigh” our actions… even our thoughts… good or bad… we assign them weights… those to which we counter equate an amount of joy or pain with…
Say for example… “If i call Her; and say loving things to her… she should say loving things back…”
Not taking into account the millions of things that have to be RIGHT… in synchrony… all the power lines to be up and running… the earth revolving at the right speeds with the satellites to bounce the signals… the sun maintaining the continuous pull on earth.. the earth maintaining a continual awaying form the sun through centrifugal force…
that BALANCE that needs to exist in the first place; for earth to be alive for so many billions of years to fuel that remarkably efficient silicon chip in that phone… for everything to be perfact as it is already…
We;
Minuscule me… i take it all on my broad shoulders to make it all happen; as if i could… as if i would not be maddened my mind with Frenzy…
Ha
We have not a single power in our hands except love… we have not a single power in our hands except love….
Truely; humbling love for everything that exists.. and the beauty/wickedness that exists IS with our minds to compare it with… :-) the weights that we drag with it (with our soul)
THere is nothing out there… it;s all manifestations of our own thoughts; our own feelings…
Our attributes that we place on our doings now are seeds; for a future life to tree… the small firings… of anger, regret, passion, infatuation… all flowers of afterlife
Our fruits that we enjoy now, bitter or sweet, are just past trees flowering and blooming to being…
The flowering stops when we stop; with love and humbleness towards existence as a whole… to the extent that we become the observer.. and not the doer of the acts on earth…
God + Desires = Mankind…
If we rid desires and stop the planting… and just be… :-) Can you imagine the possibility… ???
I agree there is nothing out there, but there IS a hell of a lot in here :)
Rather than manifestations of thoughts and feelings I see rather manifestations of God, (ultimately our thoughts and feeling come from this divine power anyhow)
The ceasing of desire is unimaginable to me indeed Janak, but an exciting idea nevertheless. Al in God's good time I guess.
Truth always gets to me.. ;-) when i want to rid a desire…
Why is there no frustration i ask you…
For Frustration leads to great heights…
It;s when the man first got frustrated with trains and cars.. that he invented flight… yes ?
well spirituality is not far fetched… we are NOT yet frustrated with the mundane life; with mundane desires… that is why we look no further…
True enlightened ones are sooo mad inside with ecstasy.. it;s almost hard to pretend to be normal… to be mundane world again… How can someone who has tasted divinity… ever casual in tasting the plates of the world…
a saint once said there are 2 things.. needs and desires… when we focus on needs; and not on desires… happiness is revealed… trust me… i have seen African kids more happy in their mud huts than a millionare on a private jet.
It's all good… it;s all needed… but we have to get Frustrated with our endless; chained to the law of diminishing utility, fickle, fake, forget worthy, umm desires….
Desires are the cause of reincarnation… can you imagine…
we are alive; because of unfulfiled desires… had it been our realisation of its fake-ness we would be with God…
To desire to Love God.. and His work; to communicate salvation.. that is probably the best desire to have…
But worldly love is soo ummm unpredictable… for it is based on something that is baseless these days… People… :-)
People change.. for the sake of argument.. “change for the better”.. yet; that is the conundrum… if something changes… then love is something that lacks change… love is pure and giving… and how then can it be combined with something that changes…? Love is like light… giving to the good and the bad.. equally… without judgement…
How can we find this kind of love… does it exist even… if it does… Bravo…
But Loving God.. is the only way to get a true lover in my eyes… for only He knows how to divine an act for the two to be together :-)
Loving God mostly….
that's also another way to be less desirefull.
:-)
Rather than frustration I prefer inspiration for my actions to make the world a better place.
How better to Love God than through all his manifestations here on earth?
I feel we will be one in the end with God, but the urgency for this is fading, I can enjoy the beauty of this ride while it lasts.
Even the desire to be desireless can be a trap. :) I Enjoy the beauty that is here to offer within the desires that still sprout and sometimes blossom the most surprising flowers.
Peace Janak!
Well I agree with you Shanti… Frustration was meant to be of Anger.. of Ego; of ourselves as the doer.. that is what i was trying to say…. the mundane is sooo easily advocated and we keep on looping in jeaousy and hate and pride and yes; pain… it;s like we like to pain… and don;t we really…
Eventually.. we love pain… and that is what we need to be frustrated with…
And ofcourse.. Inspiration.. Yes… and what a better inspiration then God… Yes…
YET there are times when i feel God is the creator and the world his creation.. almost like an acid test we are here to choose; do we desire the creator.. or His creation…
What is your belief after you read this.. ? that this world could be an acid test… a detergent almost… where we are sent to rid our emotions good and bad…
A test of how much do we really love him…
And how readily are we giving up all that; for reincarnation is out there… to start the washing machine again ;-)
Thanks for this debating… i will enjoy my little desires and its suprising flowers :-)
No I don't see God as something separate from his creation. That way it doesn't have to be either or, I can love God through Loving this world, both at the same time. No need for separation, everything is divine.
Regardless, do we have a choice what we desire? desire too seems be a gift of God. A dangling carrot to lead you down the garden path. For me the trick with desire is to enjoy it, that feeling of wanting is usually better than the feeling of “having”. This want makes us vulnerable, alive!
Ha….
Being the rose… to bloom and to wither away too…. yet leave a sense of presence with the aroma of its heart…
yes that is the beauty of this world.. .that we need to enjoy it while it makes sense to enjoy it… and keep deepening our path with the scent of desire…
Impressively true… i do this actaully, unconciously enjoying the desires..
{feeling free somehow.. admitting it…)
